Welcome to the Tahoe Sierra Snowmobile Club

Where other than in Tahoe can you get such a view? — During Amber Holt’s Snowmobile Clinic 2011.

Thought Tahoe was just for skiers and snowboarders?

Think again. Lake Tahoe and the Sierras have some of the best snowmobiling in the world! Thanks to the high elevation, the snow is plentiful and the areas to ride are vast and provide fantastic views. An average of 320 sunny days per year doesn’t hurt either. These great conditions make for exceptional snowmobiling.

On any given winter day, and especially on weekends, you see families in the snow-parks who brought their snowmobiles, toboggans, a BBQ and lawn chairs. They play in the snow all day long and take off for rides to enjoy some of the many groomed trails. Snowmobiling is a great way to see Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley from a different angle in a way easily accessible for everyone—from first-time snowmobilers to expert riders. It is also a wonderful way for people with physical disabilities to experience the snow and to climb a mountaintop or two!

The many intermediate to expert riders who come to enjoy our area take off in groups and explore the backcountry where there are no trails, only untouched snow-covered valleys and mountains. It is a very special feeling having “virgin snow” in front of you all day long. Most of these remote areas of our beautiful Sierras you can only get to and experience via snowmobile.
